Acne starts with a skin follicle in which has accumulated dead skin cells, bacteria, and oil. These materials collect overtime, invisible to the naked eye, and as they collect the area becomes inflamed, this is the cause of acne pimples, pustules and zits.

Proactive acne treatment is an excellent way to help eliminate, prevent, and heal acne. It is an innovative acne treatment that appears to have helped millions of people.

Proactive uses a combination therapy to treat acne. The combination therapy includes the Renewing Cleanser, Revitalizing Toner, and Repair Lotion. It is claimed that the combination of products is effective in clearing acne.

The Renewing Cleanser exfoliates the skin, the Revitalizing Toner helps to remove the accumulation of dead skin cell from the pores and the Renewing Lotion contains benzoyl peroxide which destroys acne causing bacteria that lurks deep in the pores of the skin.

Proactive also offers other acne treatment products. The Refining Mask is claimed to help speed up the effects of the combination and the Oil Control Lotion is supposed to do exactly what it says on the bottle - control oil production.

Proactive recommend that the combination therapy is used twice a day, morning and night.  The Refining Mask is usually only used weekly or when a breakout occurs.

Acne can occur at any age; some people believe that acne is only found in teenagers going through puberty but there are a growing number of adults, both men and women, struggling with blemishes too.

The Proactive acne treatment is suitable for anyone to try, although as with all skin products care must be taken at first to ensure that none of the active ingredients react with your particular skin type.
